This page has the (intended to be mostly humor) top ten superduper things we (including our clients) do!
TOP TEN LIST!
Number 10- Respecting Nature. We offer organic: weed vanishing, grass disappearance, moss only lawns, and Eco landscape consulting. Our spray maintenance of weed-only areas is organic, non-mororized, and lowest cost possible. More moss lawns means less lawn mowers. Our consulting is for less money/time on your landscape so it's more Natural. Our consulting is not advanced but a low price if you acknowledge you're not very knowledgable.
Number 9- Save money. If it didn't cost much to eliminate weeds in weed only areas, if you have a lawn with mostly moss, if we could save you money, why not?
Number 8- Saving time. How much extra time you would have if you didn't take care of your lawn? Sure it's nice to have the hobby of taking care of the lawn- it's "getting outside", makes time slow down, there's the focus of unlocking the brain from all the usual stuff. But all that good stuff, getting outside, unfocusing on life stuff, all that suff can be done on a flower bed, or vegitable growing, or going for a walk.
Number 7- Moss is surprisingly hardy and handles typical walking-on fine. For the typical amount of walking-on that a lawn gets, moss does fine.
Number 6- Moss is chill.Moss feels better to walk on, especially barefoot. You can putt a golf ball and play croquet on moss. Moss is easier to keep green than grass- just water for a minute and it gets more green. No holes of dirt show through with moss- we transplant moss in. Moss is an integral part of Japanese gardens, dating back centuries, which elicit a contemplative, serene and calm state of mind.
Number 5- A way to honor our role with Nature. As far as the big picture of global warming, it's no secret that caring about it, or not, is tough. It's encouraging that more people are doing little things that are empowering- living the dream, realizing our choices define us, looking to what we can do to honor ourselves and Nature. Organic spray is a fabulous response to climate change- no weeds, get rid of turf grass, and make more moss!
Number 4- Everyone who participates in TOSMC is pioneering. What if in around 2020 TOMLC is featured in Parade magazine or something, because of the non-mowing angle? We'll be glad to say that ourclients are the pioneers.
Number 3- reduce noise in your neighborhood. If your lawn is currently mowed and/or trimmed/ and or blown... wouldn't it be nice to hear the birdies instead of lawn machines- even for two hours a week? What if you switch to a moss lawn and get a thanks from a neighbor, would that go a long way towards more community?
Number 2- no unanticipated costs and chemicals with moss. Diseases and insects that affect grass do not bother moss, so no potential for future die off in grass where pests eat the roots- yuk!
Number 1-The top of ten, the number one reason to participate with TOSMC, is... the #1 reason is... Kids of any age learn that even very old ways of doing things (like mowing) can be 'evolved' into new ways that are good business and honor our role with Nature!
